LG Sues China's Top TV Maker

Law360, New York (February 12, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Two Asian electronics heavyweights are set to duke it out, after LG Electronics sued China’s number one television maker for allegedly infringing its digital television patents.

Korea-based LG accuses Thomson TCL Electronics and its Hong Kong-based holding company TCL Multimedia Technology of infringing four patents.

“Intellectual property including patents is the company’s essential asset…. This lawsuit shows our strong will for protection of our own intellectual property,” said Jeong Hwan Lee, executive vice president and head of LG Electronics’ Intellectual Property Center.
