Law360, New York (August 09, 2010, 3:54 PM ET) -- Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has accused BP PLC of violating state environmental laws by emitting more than 500,000 pounds of pollutants, marking the latest suit over the oil giant's problem-plagued Texas City, Texas, refinery.
Abbott filed suit Monday in the District Court of Travis County, Texas, accusing BP of allowing harmful contaminants from the refinery, such as benzene, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides, into the air and water.
