Alcatel-Lucent, Others Sued Over Fiber Optics IP

Law360, New York (August 01, 2011, 1:22 PM ET) -- Patent-holding company Cheetah Omni LLC filed a lawsuit in Texas on Friday against Alcatel-Lucent Holdings Inc., Ciena Corp., Fujitsu Network Communications Inc. and others over several patents related to fiber-optic network technology.

Cheetah Omni's complaint took aim at 11 defendants, also including Nokia Siemens Networks US LLC, Huawei Technologies USA Inc. and Tellabs Inc.

The complaint accuses the defendants of making, selling or importing reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer products that infringe Cheetah Omni's patents, and cited Fujitsu's Flashwave 7500, Ciena's Nortel 6500 ROADM, Tellabs' 7100 ROADM...
