Law360, New York (July 20, 2012, 5:10 PM ET) -- An invalidity ruling against a pair of Web browser patents asserted by Eolas Technologies Inc. against Google Inc., YouTube LLC and others will stand, and a new trial isn't warranted, a Texas federal judge said Thursday.
U.S. District Judge Leonard Davis denied Eolas' bid to overturn a jury's determination earlier this year that its patents were invalid and therefore could not be asserted against Google and other companies, saying the jury had properly determined both patents were invalid for reasons of anticipation and obviousness.
