Jury Orders Tobacco Cos. To Pay $27M To Widow

Law360, New York (March 24, 2010, 7:34 PM ET) -- Following a string of unfavorable verdicts for tobacco companies in the so-called Engle progeny suits, a Florida jury has directed R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and Philip Morris USA to fork over $26.6 million to the widow of a smoker who died of lung cancer after smoking for more than 50 years.
