Law360, New York (November 16, 2010, 4:11 PM ET) -- A Florida jury has ordered R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. to pony up $80 million for the daughter of a smoker who died of lung cancer, a setback for the tobacco industry after a string of victories in the so-called Engle progeny tobacco product liability cases.
The jury returned the verdict for $72 million in punitive damages Monday in the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida, on top of the $8 million in damages it awarded Dianne Webb for the wrongful death of her father, James Cayce Horner....
