NFLers Sue League, Get Locked Out

Law360, New York (March 11, 2011, 7:44 PM ET) -- The National Football League locked its players out Saturday at midnight after negotiations broke down and star quarterback Tom Brady filed an antitrust class action against the league.

Both sides conceded Friday afternoon that nearly three weeks of intense talks on a new collective bargaining agreement had failed to bring the league and players together.

The National Football League Players Association decertified Friday evening, exercising the so-called nuclear option that opens the league to antitrust suits.
