Law360, New York (June 02, 2011, 10:54 PM ET) -- A judge in Ecuador on Thursday dismissed criminal charges against two Chevron Corp. attorneys who were accused of misleading the government about environmental remediation in the Amazon rain forest.
The judge dropped the indictment against Chevron in-house lawyer Ricardo Reis Veiga and outside counsel Rodrigo Pérez Pallares, who had allegedly told the government that Texaco, now owned by Chevron, had finished remediating more than 100 mines in the Ecuadorean rain forest.
