TARP Watchdog Faults Bills From Simpson Thacher, Others

Law360, New York (September 29, 2011, 4:01 PM ET) -- A federal watchdog on Thursday said the government should ask Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP to repay more than $91,000 because of supposed billing deficiencies for work the firm did on the U.S. bank bailout program.

The report of an audit by Christy L. Romero, acting special inspector general for the Troubled Asset Relief Program, identified problems with the bills submitted for some of the more than $27 million in work performed by five law firms on the bailout program.
