Law360, New York (February 29, 2012, 6:51 PM ET) -- The former security chief of a Massey Energy Co. affiliate was sentenced Wednesday in West Virginia federal court to three years in prison for obstructing a federal probe of the deadly Upper Big Branch mine explosion.
U.S. District Judge Irene C. Berger sentenced Hughie Elbert Stover to 36 months in prison plus two years of probation and fined him $20,000, just two days after denying his motion to acquit or allow a new trial.
