Law360, New York (March 02, 2012, 4:10 PM ET) -- A Florida state jury ruled Wednesday in a wrongful death suit that Lorillard Tobacco Co. owes $20 million to the widow of a man who died of lung cancer after smoking cigarettes for 40 years.
The jury found that negligence on the part of Lorillard contributed to Coleman Alexander’s death, that the company’s cigarettes were defective and unreasonably dangerous, that it omitted material health information on it packaging, and that it concealed information about addiction and damage that could occur as a result of smoking....
