Fed's Volcker Rule Grace Period Eases Bank Uncertainty

Law360, New York (April 19, 2012, 6:50 PM ET) -- The Federal Reserve's Thursday announcement that banks have at least a full two years to comply with the still unfinished Volcker Rule should ease concerns over what will happen when the rule is scheduled to come into effect in July, attorneys said.

Regulators charged with overseeing the Dodd-Frank Act's ban on proprietary trading will allow the banks to in a way ease into compliance with the controversial rule over the two-year period rather than being forced to stop all potentially barred activities immediately, the Fed said....
