Law360, New York (May 01, 2012, 3:55 PM ET) -- Under a consent decree approved Monday, the U.S. Department of Defense will pay about $5.6 million to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to cover a radioactive waste cleanup at a Superfund site in Michigan that has already cost over $20 million.
The Pentagon agreed to cover some of the EPA's unreimbursed response costs at the site to resolve any potential claims and counterclaims against it from property owner D&L Sales Inc., the defendant in the EPA's suit in Michigan federal court.
