Law360, New York (May 01, 2012, 6:46 PM ET) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission unanimously voted Tuesday to issue a proposal that would alter rules under the Dodd-Frank Act to make it easier for foreign regulators to access data regarding U.S. swaps.
The proposal would exempt foreign regulators seeking swaps data from provisions under the financial reform act that require the regulators to enter into expensive indemnification agreements that make them liable for any legal action related to the data sharing.
