Gupta Loses Bid For Financial Info Of SEC Cooperators

Law360, New York (May 02, 2012, 3:07 PM ET) -- A New York federal judge on Tuesday denied a request from former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. board member Rajat Gupta for information on the finances of witnesses cooperating in a government insider trading case against him.

U.S. District Jed S. Rakoff said he would not order the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to turn over details on the financial circumstances of witnesses who may testify against Gupta at trial, denying a motion from Gupta's lawyers.
