Bill To End Gay Bias In Workplace Gets New Life

Law360, New York (May 10, 2012, 7:04 PM ET) -- A day after President Barack Obama declared his support for same-sex marriage, a U.S. Senate committee on Thursday agreed to restart the debate on long-delayed legislation that would ban discrimination against gay people in the workforce.

In response to a a renewed push by lawmakers and advocacy groups to revive a bill that has long stalled in Congress, the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee scheduled a June 12 hearing on the Employee Non-Discrimination Act.
