Law360, New York (May 11, 2012, 3:08 PM ET) -- Seventeen states will join attorneys general accusing Apple Inc. and a pair of book publishers of conspiring to inflate the price of e-books if a New York federal court approves an uncontested bid to add the plaintiffs filed Friday.
If approved, the suit will expand to a total of 33 state governments on behalf of their consumers alleging Apple, Penguin Group USA Inc. and Holtzbrinck Publishers LLC worked with other publishers to revamp the sales model for the digital products in order to gouge consumers....
