Law360, New York (June 29, 2012, 8:54 PM ET) -- Dairyland Power Cooperative on Friday agreed to pay nearly $156 million to settle the federal government’s claims that the Wisconsin utility had released large amounts of harmful emissions and ignored Clean Air Act regulations at some of its facilities.
Dairyland agreed to spend approximately $150 million toward pollution control technology and $5 million on environmental mitigation projects and to pay a civil penalty of $950,000 to resolve allegations that it violated the CAA’s New Source Review provisions, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
