Law360, New York (July 19, 2012, 10:09 PM ET) -- The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday voted 326-90 to approve a $606 billion defense spending bill that allots nearly $88 billion to terrorism-oriented overseas war activities in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The bill, H.R. 5856, which the house passed briefly after 7 p.m. EST with more than two dozen amendments, also allocates $518.1 billion in nonwar defense funding for research, maintenance and programs by the U.S. Department of Defense, including some $33 billion for its health program.
