Law360, New York (July 30, 2012, 10:08 PM ET) -- A California federal judge on Monday threw out a putative class action brought by a former Perkins Coie LLP attorney over paycheck deductions, ordering the parties to enter arbitration as called for in a partnership agreement.
U.S. District Judge Jeffrey S. White found the majority of the arbitration clause in the partnership agreement between the firm and lead plaintiff Harold DeGraff valid, but severed a provision that requires the arbitration to remain confidential, finding that it could benefit only the firm and not the plaintiff....
