Law360, New York (September 21, 2012, 2:07 PM ET) -- A German court dealt Apple Inc. a blow in its global patent war with rival smartphone makers Friday, ruling that Samsung Electronics Co. and Google Inc.'s Motorola Mobility hadn't infringed a patent related to touch-screen technology.
The decision, out of the Mannheim Regional District Court, shot down Apple's infringement claims against both Samsung and Motorola over a European “touch event model” patent, said a blog entry by Florian Mueller, an intellectual property consultant who has been following the case.
