White Collar Star Named Top White House Atty

Law360, New York (June 02, 2011, 8:14 PM ET) -- The White House said Thursday that former U.S. attorney and Latham & Watkins LLP white collar partner Kathryn Ruemmler would become White House counsel following the departure of current counsel Bob Bauer.

Ruemmler, who currently holds the deputy counsel post, gained fame as the lead U.S. attorney in charge of the prosecutions of Enron Corp.'s former CEOs.

Bauer, her boss, will return to Perkins Coie LLP but remain close to President Barack Obama. The White House said he will act as general counsel to Obama's re-election...
