Law360, New York (March 27, 2012, 4:04 PM ET) -- Lawmakers in both chambers of Congress introduced bills Monday that would hold government contractors and subcontractors more accountable for human trafficking of employees in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere, with penalties up to and including criminal charges.
Identical bills in the Senate and the House, S. 2234 and H.R. 4259, would require contractors to create anti-trafficking compliance plans and to report any evidence that their subcontractors had engaged in trafficking to federal agencies.
