FDA Bans Bulk Sale Of Concentrated Caffeine Supplements

Law360 (April 13, 2018, 2:23 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Friday banned the bulk sale of dietary supplements that contain highly concentrated or pure caffeine directly to consumers, saying the products pose a public health risk.

The agency said products that contain highly concentrated or pure caffeine are dangerous, as there is a high chance that they will be used at excessive levels. At least two deaths have been linked to the use of these caffeine products, the FDA said.
