Wineries Uncork Lawsuit Over "Wholesaler Cartel"

Law360, New York (September 19, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of family-owned and operated wineries in Napa Valley, Calif. are drunk with anger at the state of Massachusetts for prohibiting residents from purchasing wine directly from the vineyards.

The group, Family Winemakers of California, filed a federal lawsuit on Monday against the state, alleging violations of interstate commerce and discrimination against out-of-state wineries.
