NJ Atty Suspended For Hiding Malpractice Suit From Firm

Law360 (May 14, 2019, 7:48 PM EDT) -- An attorney has been suspended in New Jersey for six months for mishandling his clients’ claims against an investment broker and not telling his then-firm about both their malpractice action and a subsequent default judgment of more than $450,000 against him and the firm.

In an order filed Monday, the New Jersey Supreme Court accepted the December recommendation of the court’s Disciplinary Review Board to issue that suspension to Michael Evan Weintraub over his admitted misconduct while working as an associate at the law firm of Peluso Castelluci & Weintraub PC.
