'Chinese Warren Buffett' Arrested At Toronto Airport

Law360, New York (January 14, 2010, 7:05 PM EST) -- The investment manager who deemed himself a “Chinese Warren Buffett” and then allegedly defrauded investors out of millions of dollars in a Ponzi scheme reportedly was arrested in Canada late Wednesday.

Weizhen Tang, 51, was arrested by two Toronto police officers just after his Air Canada flight from Shanghai landed at Pearson International Airport, according to a report from the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.

He appeared in court briefly and faces a bail hearing Friday, the CBC said.
