Obama Names La. Prosecutor To 5th Circ.

Law360, New York (May 6, 2011, 6:13 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama on Thursday announced Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana Stephen A. Higginson as his choice to sit on the Fifth Circuit.

Higginson has served the U.S. attorney's office since 1993, rising to chief of appeals in 1995, according to the White House. Currently working part-time as a federal prosecutor, Higginson teaches constitutional and criminal law as an associate professor at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
