Mexican Court Takes Up "Televisa Law"

Law360 (May 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Mexico’s Supreme Court is currently analyzing a new telecommunications law that, if it remains unchanged, will give added power to the country’s two broadcasting giants.

The Federal Law on Radio and Television, dubbed the “Televisa Law” by its critics, allows television and radio broadcasters to use spectrum freed up by improved technology to offer additional channels without having to pay more for the permits.
