Ex-Detroit Mayor Can't Ditch Atty On Eve of Corruption Trial

Law360, New York (August 14, 2012, 3:24 PM EDT) -- A Michigan federal judge said Tuesday that it was too late for ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to obtain new counsel after a purported breakdown in relations with his current attorney, a bid prosecutors reportedly dismissed as a ruse to delay his impending trial on government contract bribery charges.
