$500M Philly Casino Project Will Vie For City's Last License

Law360, Philadelphia (November 2, 2012, 6:19 PM EDT) -- The Cordish Cos. and Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment Inc. are proposing a $425 million to $500 million hotel and casino project in South Philadelphia that would vie for the final casino license to be issued in the city, the companies announced Friday.

Cordish — a Baltimore-based developer of entertainment districts — and Greenwood — owner of the Parx casino and racetrack just outside Philadelphia — have formed a partnership, Stadium Casino LLC, to build a 200,000-square-foot facility adjacent to the city’s sports complex.
