UK Names Chief Executive Of New Competition Authority

Law360, New York (January 8, 2013, 4:56 PM EST) -- Alex Chisholm, head of Ireland's telecommunications watchdog, has been appointed chief executive of the United Kingdom's new Competition and Markets Authority, officials announced Tuesday.

Chisholm will begin serving his five-year appointment at the U.K.'s new competition authority on March 25, 2013. He currently serves as commissioner of Ireland's Commission for Communications Regulation, which oversees the country's communications industry, and will remain at ComReg until he assumes his new role.
