Contractors Front $21M To Settle O'Hare Rehab Dispute

Law360, New York (March 8, 2013, 5:46 PM EST) -- Chicago officials said Friday that the city had reached a $21 million settlement with seven Illinois contractors over delays and design defects associated with a facade rehabilitation project at O'Hare International Airport.

Walsh Construction Co. and six other unnamed contractors and design firms agreed to front the money for a series of problems that have plagued the $300 million O'Hare redesign effort since at least 2005, the city said.

The payments reimburse the city for the costs it incurred in discovering and verifying the design defects...
