Waste Management CFO To Pay $4M For Fraud

Law360, New York (January 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- An Illinois federal court has ordered former Waste Management Inc. financial head James E. Koenig to pay more than $4 million for 60 alleged violations of securities laws in what was one of the largest corporate fraud cases in U.S. history.

U.S. District Judge Wayne R. Anderson of the Northern District of Illinois entered a final judgment following a two-day bench trial on remedies and an 11-week jury trial in 2006 that found Koenig guilty on all charges. Koenig is accused of taking part in an...
