Insurer Says Coverage Void In Philly Building Collapse

Law360, Philadelphia (August 6, 2013, 1:57 PM EDT) -- The insurer for the demolition contractor implicated in the fatal June building collapse in Center City Philadelphia filed a lawsuit in Pennsylvania state court on Monday seeking a declaration that its coverage had been voided.

Berkley Assurance Co. contends that contractor Griffin Campbell committed fraud on his insurance application, and that the policy was invalid before the collapse — which killed six and injured more than a dozen others — took place.
