$6B Philly Airport Project Faces Heat Over Lease Termination

Law360, Philadelphia (October 24, 2013, 2:17 PM EDT) -- The attorney for a Philadelphia solid waste disposal company asked a Pennsylvania judge on Thursday to halt an effort by the city to terminate its lease as a part of a planned $6 billion airport expansion, calling the airport issue a “red herring.”

Clifford Haines — who represents Victory Recycling Inc., a company owned by William Rinaldi — said the city was unprepared to put the property to use before the lease’s 2018 expiration. He asserted there were other, undisclosed,  motivations behind its notice to end...
