Intuit Amends Ad Campaign In Win For H&R Block

Law360 (January 18, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Rather than proceed with a trademark infringement battle with the world’s largest tax services company, rival Intuit Inc. has agreed to immediately change its television and radio commercials, which H&R Block Inc. said were inaccurate.

The news comes a week after H&R Block filed suit in a Kansas City federal court against Intuit, alleging false and misleading advertising, unfair competition and trademark infringement. The charges center on Intuit’s $25 million national advertising campaign for its TurboTax tax preparation software.
