$40M Unum Class Action Settlement Gets Judge's OK

Law360, New York (May 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has granted final approval to a $40 million settlement putting to rest a group of consolidated securities class actions brought on behalf of investors who purchased securities of insurance company Unum Group.

Judge Curtis L. Collier of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee on Wednesday approved the settlement, which was first proposed by the parties in July.
