Deals Rumor Mill: Toshiba, BuzzFeed, Blue Apron

By Benjamin Horney (March 29, 2017, 2:46 PM EDT) -- A group led by South Korean chipmaker SK Hynix Inc. has put forth a more than $9 billion proposal to acquire a majority stake in Toshiba Corp.'s memory chip business, Reuters reported on Wednesday. According to the report, which cited local publication The Maeil Business Newspaper, SK Hynix has teamed up with Japanese financial institutions to make the bid. The identities of the SK Hynix partners were not disclosed. Reports earlier this month said that Taiwan's Foxconn Technology Group was interested in teaming up with SK Hynix to make an offer. Previous reports said that companies including Micron Technology Inc., Western Digital Corp. and Bain Capital LP were considering placing offers worth up to 400 billion yen ($3.6 billion) for a 19.9 percent stake in the Toshiba unit....
