Deals Rumor Mill: Ducati, Ista International, LendLease

By Benjamin Horney (June 21, 2017, 3:32 PM EDT) -- Harley-Davidson Inc. hopes to acquire Italian motorcycle company Ducati, with Reuters reporting on Wednesday that the well-known American bike maker is preparing a takeover bid that could be worth as much as €1.5 billion ($1.67 billion). According to the report, others like Bajaj Auto and multiple private equity firms including KKR & Co. LP, Bain Capital and Permira will also make offers for Ducati, which is owned by Germany's Volkswagen. Harley Davidson is working with Goldman Sachs Group Inc. on its bid, the report noted. Reports late last month said a variety of suitors had made known their interest in Ducati. Rumors that the company was up for grabs date back to April....
