Alberta hikes Court of Appeal fees

Law360 Canada (May 13, 2025, 2:08 PM EDT) -- The Government of Alberta has announced that effective immediately, some court fees will increase.

According to an announcement on the Alberta courts website, the following Court of Appeal fees are affected:

  • Fee for applications in the course of an appeal: increasing from $50 to $100 (excludes applications to restore an appeal)
  • Fee to inspect a file: $10 to $25
  • Fee to search a name, including inspecting one file: $10 to $25
