The appellant pleaded guilty to a single count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. She was charged following the execution of a search warrant at her home where police seized 40.6 grams of cocaine in individual .08 gram packets, measuring spoons, packaging material, $861 in cash and scales. The cocaine was valued at $4,000. The Crown sought a two-year penitentiary term.
