Ala. HS Hoops Star's Disputed Suspension Halted, For Now

Law360 (January 11, 2019, 8:39 PM EST) -- An Alabama judge on Friday issued an emergency order allowing a high school basketball player to return to the court amid nationwide criticism of the Alabama High School Athletic Association for suspending her for her senior season for cashing a check mistakenly sent by USA Basketball, even though she sent the money back. 

Pike County Circuit Court Judge Henry Reagan issued a temporary restraining order that will allow Charles Henderson High School basketball player Maori Davenport to play immediately, until a further ruling by the court, after she and her parents filed a lawsuit Thursday to overturn the suspension.
