Deals Rumor Mill: Time, Goldman Sachs, China

By Benjamin Horney (November 28, 2016, 3:49 PM EST) -- Time Inc., the publishing company behind major magazines including Time, People and Fortune, has rejected a takeover offer lobbed by billionaire Edgar Bronfman Jr., according to a Monday report from the New York Post. The $18-per-share offer, which represented a premium of 30.4 percent to Time's Friday closing price, valued the company at $1.78 billion, according to the report. Bronfman, who holds the title of managing partner at private equity shop Accretive LLC, made the offer in tandem with Russian billionaire Leonard Blavatnik, the report said....
