National Association of Realtors escapes US antitrust claims challenging rules

( July 16, 2025, 00:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US judge dismissed Homie Technology's US antitrust lawsuit with prejudice. Homie alleged that the adoption and enforcement of the National Association of Realtors' "Exclusionary Rules and Policies" by defendants, including HomeServices of America and Anywhere Real Estate, reflected concerted action between horizontal competitors and constituted agreements among competing real estate brokers. In a memorandum decision and order, US District Judge Dale Kimball wrote that "Homie’s claims are time-barred and that the continuing violation doctrine does not save Homie’s claims." He added that "even if Homie’s claims were not time-barred, Homie has failed to state a federal or state antitrust claim because it has not plausibly alleged an antitrust injury, and Homie has failed to state a claim for tortious interference with economic relations." See memorandum decision and order. ...
