Eni, Esso, other oil companies hit with €936 million antitrust fine in Italy

( September 26, 2025, 07:49 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Eni, Esso, Ip, Iplom, Q8, Saras and Tamoil have been fined a total of €936 million for colluding on prices over three and a half years, the Italian Competition Authority said on Friday. The oil companies directly and indirectly coordinated the value of the bio component added to gasoline. The watchdog noted that the cost of the bio component, which was mandated by law, tripled between 2019 and 2023. Eni received the largest fine, which amounted to €336 million.The statement follows....
