( September 26, 2025, 22:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EssilorLuxottica won a motion to dismiss US claims accusing it of being the instigator and primary enforcer of a national price-fixing scheme in the consumer eyewear market. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil found that plaintiffs failed to plausibly define the market that EssilorLuxottica allegedly monopolized, attempted to monopolize, and illegally combined with others to restrain. Vyskocil said both sets of plaintiffs implausibly alleged that “[b]oth non-prescription and prescription sunglasses fall into the same relevant submarket,” even though prescription sunglasses serve the purpose of “vision correction” and non-prescription sunglasses do not.See attached file. ...
