Bosch, Infineon, NXP can take stakes in TSMC’s European business, German authority says

( November 7, 2023, 10:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Bosch, Infineon and NXP have secured German approval to each take a 10 percent stake in European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, which is planning a new factory in the city of Dresden. ESMC is owned by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. The Bundeskartellamt said it had looked at whether rival chipmakers would still be able to find enough customers, and that it found no concerns. The authority’s chief Andreas Mundt pointed to the need for German industry to secure access to chips, following recent geopolitical upheavals.Statement follows....
