AI model providers to see EU code of practice in July, AI Office head says

The code was meant to be published on May 2, but it was delayed because of efforts to align it with guidelines on general-purpose AI rules, and to secure the support of major AI companies amid pressure from the US government.Providers of general-purpose AI models including OpenAI, Google and Microsoft will see a final code of practice to help them comply with the EU's AI Act "before the summer" — meaning in July — a senior European Commission official said today....
