Ballinno appeal dismissed by UPC in a patent dispute with Kinexon and UEFA

( June 27, 2025, 13:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Ballinno’s appeal against a security order and cost decision in connection with European patent 1,944,067 has been rejected by the Court of Appeal of the Unified Patent Court. Ballinno, who challenged the order requiring it to deposit 56,000 euros for legal costs in a ball-touch-detection patent dispute with Kinexon companies and UEFA, failed to overturn the decision. The court noted that Ballinno had withdrawn provisional measure requests, which rendered the appeal purposeless. The appeal court affirmed the cost decision, setting the dispute value at 100,000 euros, and upheld the financial security requirements, favoring Kinexon and UEFA.The order is attached. ...
